Who was the followers of Jesus?
Among Jesus’ disciples and followers, there were many different kinds of people. Some people couldn’t read and had no education. Some of them had a high level of education, but they used it just for themselves, betraying their country. Some of them were terrorists for their nation’s independence, and others were women, who were the weakest class in Israel society. They had totally different backgrounds. Even traitors and zealots were part of the same group, like Matthew and Simon. They must have had a bad relationship. Yet, they worked together, traveled together, and became brothers. How was that possible?,Through Jesus That is the power of the gospel. He taught God’s universal love to his followers and disciples. Following Jesus’ instruction, the disciples gathered in the name of the Messiah and waited for the Holy Spirit. It didn’t matter what they were. It didn’t matter where they came from. It doesn’t really matter who you are. The gospel is for all people and the great commission is for all believers’.
How about us? We have different backgrounds. Men, women, students, pastors, workers, timid people, active people, tolerant people, smart people, and others. It doesn't matter. We are all Christians who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe in the Gospel, which is for all people unconditionally. So, if you are christians, you should join the great commission Jesus gave. You might say “no, I can’t because I’m too shy.” or “I want to join the great commission, but I’m too busy to share the gospel.” But, if you believe in God and love God,. there is no excuse. If we are looking to take part in the great commission in our own lives and context, God will give us the power to do it.
