How Peter Preached?

Acts  2: 14 - 42


We dealt with Peter’s first preaching. Peter’s first sermon was powerful because he preached based on the Bible, the Old Testament, which was the most important scripture for Israelites. The Bible was really important to the Israeli people because it was the word God gave them. And actually, that was their history. The majority of them thought that the death of Jesus was deserved because he insulted God by saying he was the Son of God himself. However, surprisingly, Peter argued that both the death of Jesus and his resurrection was written in the Bible they believed in. Since his sermon was based on the Old Testament, those who heard Peter’s preaching had no choice but to follow and agree with his speech even though some of them agreed with the priest’s argument about killing Jesus. After Peter’s speech, they realized that they were wrong, they had misunderstood Jesus, he is the Messiah, Savior, and Son of God. Do you remember how many people decided to accept Peter’s message and were baptized? 3 thousand people. That is the power of great preaching.
