Mark 15:40- 16:8
We talked about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. There were three main reasons Jesus was resurrected from the dead. First, the resurrection of Jesus Christ overcame the power of sin and death and freed us from the condemnation of sin. Second, it is the evidence that Jesus is the Son of God. Third, with the resurrection of Jesus, our lives will not end with us dying on earth, but we will have eternal life in the kingdom of God. But, we talked about how salvation is for everyone, not only for men, but also for women, who were the weakest class in that era. wWe have to remember: why were the women the first eyewitnesses of the resurrection from death? That is because Jesus taught his disciples and followers about the equality of humans. It helped those who were under severe oppression from society, such as women, slaves, and foreigners, to believed in Jesus Christ as their savior. Equality was a radical idea during those times, but the story of Jesus’ resurrection was key in conveying equality. That’s why Mark wrote about it in the most important place of his gospel--at the end. Jesus liberated people not only from sin but also from social oppression. That’s why the death of Jesus is for all people.
